FAA Approves 500-Foot Cranes for Link at Douglas Tower 3 Construction
Two construction cranes have received FAA approval to assist in the development of the third tower at the Link at Douglas complex. The approval, issued last month, allows the cranes to reach heights of 509 feet and 471 feet above ground.
According to filings, crane operations were scheduled to begin on April 1.
Tower 3 is set to rise 39 stories, reaching 443 feet above sea level. A fourth tower, Tower 4, is also planned and will match that height.
Together, Towers 3 and 4 are expected to deliver 870 multifamily units, 81,885 square feet of office space, 1,620 square feet of retail, and 1,012 parking spaces, as outlined in a 2022 submission to Miami-Dade.
The project’s initial phase included the 22-story Core apartment building, offering 312 units and completed in August 2021, and the 37-story Cascade building with 421 units, completed in January 2023. This phase also included a Milam’s Market and 708 parking spaces.
