Mandarin Oriental in Brickell Set to Close for 850-Foot Tower Development
Brickell’s iconic Mandarin Oriental hotel is scheduled to close on May 31, paving the way for a major redevelopment of the site, according to the South Florida Business Journal.
The closure, confirmed in an employment notice filed with the State of Florida, will clear the path for two new towers to rise after demolition of the existing structure.
The new development will feature a 66-story tower reaching 850 feet, along with a second tower planned at 426 feet. The project will include The Residences at Mandarin Oriental, as well as a new flagship Mandarin Oriental hotel.
Demolition permits are currently in progress, along with applications for construction permits for the forthcoming towers.
