A construction permit application for a 39-story residential tower, located one block from Brickell City Centre, has been filed with Miami-Dade County as of August 8. The project falls under Miami-Dade’s Rapid Transit zoning plan, which means zoning and construction reviews are being conducted by the county rather than the city of Miami. The estimated construction cost is $190 million.
The permit application details a total of 703,000 square feet and 517 residential units. Suffolk Construction is designated as the contractor for the project, which will be built on the site of the former Starlite Motel, demolished last year.
The development plans include a 9,700-square-foot full-service restaurant in addition to the residential units. Additionally, the project will feature a six-level parking garage with 506 spaces. Chicago-based Focus is listed as the developer, and Gensler is the architect for the project.
