In the heart of Miami's prestigious Design District, a new landmark is set to emerge: MIRAI, a vibrant and visionary mixed-use development by the world-renowned Kengo Kuma and Associates. This project, the first of its kind in the United States by the esteemed Japanese architect, will transform the district's landscape by seamlessly integrating curated boutique spaces, ultra-luxury retail, art galleries, and Michelin-starred restaurants, bridging the existing commercial and residential areas.
MIRAI, meaning 'the distant future' in Japanese, reflects the project's innovative spirit, combining tech-savvy and sustainable features with elements of nature.
This dynamic extension of Miami's celebrated global arts scene will encompass 65,000 square feet, featuring 17 ground-floor retail units and commercial office spaces above, each set within carefully curated modular bays.
Kengo Kuma's vision for MIRAI weaves together cultural influences, architecture, and nature. The project will include greenscapes, designed by Island Planning Corporation, with a living rooftop and pedestrian passages. The vibrant lifestyle hub will also feature high-tech lobbies and a living green roof equipped with solar panels.
With groundbreaking scheduled for Summer 2024 and completion aimed for the end of 2025, MIRAI is set to become a new landmark in Miami's Design District, exemplifying the harmonious blend of Japanese traditions and Miami's vibrant spirit.
