Miami’s skyline is poised for a dramatic transformation, and a Miami-based researcher has developed a groundbreaking 3D visualization tool that offers a glimpse into the city’s future.
The tool showcases 144 major upcoming developments, carefully rendered in 3D using official architectural plans released by developers—ensuring a level of accuracy unmatched by any other visualization currently available.
Created by Worthen Core Designs, a data visualization firm founded by neuroscience researcher Dr. Ryan Worthen, the project includes three custom scenery add-on packs for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
- The “Under Construction” pack features 24 buildings currently being built, including Cipriani Residences, Baccarat Residences, Mercedes-Benz Places, Waldorf Astoria (supertall), and Okan Tower.
- The “Future” pack adds 120 planned developments not yet under construction, such as the Citadel Headquarters, Ora by Casa Tua, 888 Brickell, Hyatt Regency Redevelopment, and One Bayfront Plaza.
Users can explore the evolving skyline from multiple perspectives—ranging from the cockpit of a helicopter to a free-roaming, first-person view—all powered by Microsoft’s advanced Flight Simulator rendering engine.
