Miami’s historic Pan Am building is set to trade flight attendant training for champagne toasts as PS prepares to open an ultra-exclusive private terminal at Miami International Airport in spring 2026.
Built in 1963 and nicknamed the “Taj Mahal of Miami” for its resemblance to the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, the midcentury modern landmark will become Florida’s first luxury commercial terminal. The two-story structure—known for its intricate brise soleil facade, slender gold metallic columns, and dramatic reflecting pool—will undergo a meticulous restoration led by RJ Heisenbottle Architects. Original Pan Am globe logos, gold-anodized aluminum panels, and the projecting canopy will all be preserved.
PS, which operates private terminals at LAX, Atlanta, and soon Dallas-Fort Worth, will introduce five ultra-private suites ($4,950 for up to four guests) with personal lounges, marble-finished bathrooms, daybeds, stocked bars, and private balconies. Two semi-private Salon spaces ($1,295 per person) will feature gourmet dining, a wraparound wooden bar, and access to the restored courtyard.
All experiences include private TSA and customs clearance, chef-prepared meals, and chauffeured BMW transfers to aircraft. The Private Suite level adds dedicated staff and spa services.
Interior designer Cliff Fong, drawing on Miami’s vibrant culture, will incorporate terrazzo, marble, smoked glass, and playful patterns inspired by Lilly Pulitzer and Marimekko.
Once home to Pan Am’s regional headquarters and flight attendant school, the restored landmark will blend aviation history with a new era of jet-set luxury.
