Miami's vibrant dining scene has welcomed a unique addition: Cotoletta, an Italian bistro in Coconut Grove that centers its entire menu around one iconic dish—Cotoletta alla Milanese.
🇮🇹 A Family Legacy Revived
Cotoletta is the brainchild of 84 Magic Hospitality partners Ignacio Lopez Mancisidor, Mattia Cicognani, and third-generation restaurateur Andrea Fraquelli. Inspired by Fraquelli's grandfather Lorenzo, who introduced multi-course Italian meals to London in the 1950s, the restaurant aims to bring back the authenticity and warmth of traditional Italian dining.
🥩 The Star of the Show: Cotoletta alla Milanese
At Cotoletta, simplicity reigns supreme. The fixed menu for two, priced at $80, begins with seasonal antipasti, followed by the signature veal cutlet—crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and infused with rosemary and lemon zest. Diners can choose two sides from options like spaghetti al pomodoro e basilico, house fries, or an arugula salad with tomatoes and Parmigiano-Reggiano.
🍷 Complementary Sips and Sweet Finishes
The beverage selection is thoughtfully curated, featuring a concise list of Northern Italian wines, Italian beers, and Prosecco-based cocktails. Desserts, each priced at $9, include flourless chocolate cake, cheesecake with raspberry coulis, and the Vanilla Affogato Supreme—a delightful blend of Italian gelato and double espresso.
🏡 A Cozy Corner in Coconut Grove
Situated at the corner of Commodore Street and Grand Avenue, Cotoletta offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with seating for 50 guests, both indoors and outdoors. The decor, adorned with family photos, evokes the charm of a classic Italian bistro.
