Mint Developers, Sonesta International Hotels Corp., and AD1 have unveiled plans for The James Hotel & Residences, a landmark $850 million hotel and residential project set to rise in downtown Miami. This ambitious collaboration combines Mint Developers' local expertise, Sonesta's global hospitality presence, and AD1's seasoned property management skills.
The James Hotel & Residences will comprise 336 fully furnished residences for sale and approximately 200 luxury hotel rooms. Soaring 82 stories high, it is poised to become one of Miami's tallest skyscrapers. Construction is slated to begin in early 2026, with completion expected by 2028, while residential sales are set to launch in the second quarter of this year.
Future residents and hotel guests will enjoy an array of world-class amenities, including a luxury spa, private cabanas with plunge pools, snow and rain rooms, and several onsite dining options. Among the highlights is a signature restaurant featuring the highest-elevation luxury bar in the Americas. Additionally, the development will offer a four-story private club, providing exclusive access to members and hotel guests.
While financing details remain under wraps, Daniel Berman, president and CEO of AD1, confirmed that the first round of funding has been secured, with Sonesta directly contributing to the project’s financing. Berman described the venture as "a testament to our dedication to redefining luxury hospitality and delivering unforgettable experiences."
Sonesta International Hotels Corp., headquartered in Massachusetts, operates a global portfolio of approximately 1,100 properties and 100,000 guestrooms across 13 brands in eight countries, making it the eighth-largest hotel company in the U.S., according to Smith Travel Research.
