Wynwood is welcoming back one of its most iconic destinations—now completely reimagined. Mayami by Golden Era Hospitality Group has officially reopened following a comprehensive architectural and design transformation, ushering in a new chapter for the beloved dining and nightlife landmark. The renewed vision is rooted in Mexican craftsmanship and elevated through immersive, contemporary design.
Led by Casa Medina Design Studio, the 8,500-square-foot space draws inspiration from Yucatecan haciendas and Oaxacan architecture, thoughtfully reinterpreted through a modern lens. Hand-troweled plaster walls, sculptural wood elements, burnished bronze accents, artisanal tilework, and softly lime-washed surfaces replace overt theming with material richness and depth. Arched forms and monolithic volumes guide guests through a layered spatial journey, while an open-air courtyard anchors the experience—blurring the boundary between indoors and out in a warm, candlelit atmosphere.
Originally opened in 2020, Mayami’s evolution seamlessly unites architecture, cuisine, and nightlife into a single, cohesive narrative that unfolds from day into night. As evening progresses, the venue transforms into a high-energy supper club, featuring nightly performances—from fire dancers to live artists—alongside DJ-driven programming seven nights a week, all set within a more refined and theatrical environment.
The relaunch also introduces expanded culinary offerings that build upon Mayami’s Latin-Mediterranean foundation, now complemented by sushi selections and seafood-forward Mediterranean dishes. Signature plates include a 32-ounce prime tomahawk, short rib rigatoni with Wagyu ragù, panela salmon, truffle pasta, and short rib a la barbacoa served with heirloom tortillas. The cocktail program remains a centerpiece, highlighted by bold house creations such as the Mayami Old Fashioned and Mezcal Mule, alongside weekday and Sunday happy hours and a high-energy weekend brunch.
“This reopening represents the evolution of Mayami,” says founder Philippe Kalifa. “The new design enhances everything guests already love—bold flavors, theatrical programming, and Miami’s nightlife energy—while elevating the experience through thoughtful architecture and atmosphere.”
