A demolition permit has been issued for the 1401 Brickell property. While a new tower is planned for the site, a construction permit has not yet been filed. The permit details the total demolition of 236,877 square feet, estimated at a cost of $5,890,000. The BG Group is listed as the contractor. The demolition permit, applied for in June 2023, was approved and issued on July 3.
In February, Miami’s UDRB approved plans for an office building named Santander Tower. The tower is designed to rise 40 stories, reaching 765 feet above ground and 778 feet above sea level. The building will include:
- 612,918 square feet of Class A office space
- 107,953 square feet of food and beverage space
- A multi-level urban club atop the building podium
- 1,496 parking spaces
Santander Tower will be LEED platinum certified. Handel Architects of New York is the architect, and Services and Promotions LLC, an affiliate of Santander Bank, is the owner.
