According to the South Florida Business Journal, the developer of Casa Forma believes that an extension of the Omni Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) will facilitate the project's progress. Casa Forma is planned to feature 1,441 residential units, 143,328 square feet of office space, 7,959 square feet of retail space, and 1,532 parking spaces, reaching 55 stories or 650 feet in height. Crescent Heights, in partnership with the Miami-Dade School Board, will develop the project, with the School Board using part of the property for offices and parking.
“Our partnership with the Miami-Dade School Board will proceed as planned with the extension of the CRA,” stated Russell Galbut, Managing Principal of Crescent Heights. Another project dependent on the Omni CRA extension is Uni Dos, which plans to include 398 units.
Miami commissioners have scheduled a hearing on the Omni CRA extension for July 25. Currently set to sunset in 2030, the Omni CRA could be extended to 2047 if commissioners approve the proposed agenda item.
