The Miami Beach City Commission has granted final approval for Terra’s redevelopment plan of the former Deauville Hotel site. The project features a new residential tower designed by Foster + Partners, along with a partial reconstruction of the hotel’s historic pedestal and a reinterpreted tower design, replacing the now-demolished original structure.
The redevelopment will also include upgraded stormwater infrastructure, two new pedestrian connections to the beachwalk, 150 public parking spaces, and various traffic improvements. Additionally, the developer will contribute $7.5 million toward the revitalization of the Byron Carlyle Cultural Center.
The next phase of the project involves a review by the Historic Preservation Board later this year, focusing on design specifics and preservation elements.
