The City of Miami has scheduled a community meeting for tomorrow to discuss The Underdeck project.
The $83 million project will create public park space beneath the new Signature Bridge in downtown Miami.
Recently, a $60 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation was awarded for this project, marking the largest grant in Miami’s history.
Miami commissioners have recommended to FDOT that the space be named the Rev. Edward T. Graham Greenway instead of The Underdeck.
The project covers a 33-acre area beneath and around the new Signature Bridge, which is expected to be completed in 2027.
The park will feature a mile-long trail for walking, jogging, biking, and scooting.
Additional amenities will include a Signature Pedestrian Bridge, multiple play and green areas, a water feature, a multi-purpose court, and a dog park.
