Buenos Aires' provocative Asian-fusion sensation, Niño Gordo, has officially landed in Miami, opening its first international outpost in the heart of Wynwood. This bold expansion from chefs Germán Sitz and Pedro Peña brings their signature blend of Argentine fire cooking and high-voltage Asian flavors—recognized with a spot at #34 on Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants—into vibrant new territory.
From the moment guests step inside, Niño Gordo Miami does more than echo the original—it turns up the volume. Housed in a 74-seat space that feels like a living comic book, the design buzzes with red lights, mirrored rooms, and a towering mural by Argentine artist Ever Siempre that eclipses its Palermo predecessor. Each area offers a distinct vibe, guiding guests through an immersive, ever-shifting landscape.
True to form, the cocktail program—curated by Christine Wiseman—pushes boundaries. Guests can choose between two distinct experiences: one inside the main restaurant, and another at Dekotora, a bold late-night sushi and cocktail bar inspired by Japan’s glam trucking subculture. Expect inventive sips like the Red Bean Old Fashioned or Papaya Salad Daiquiri, while Dekotora dazzles with theatrical pours like the glittering Electric Midnight, featuring Japanese whisky and curry coconut lime.
Dekotora ups the ante with a raw bar and omakase offering, complete with truck-inspired booths and kinetic projection walls that shift with the night. It’s a surreal, ever-evolving space where no two visits feel the same.
Niño Gordo Miami is open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday from 6 p.m. to midnight at 112 NW 28th St. Dekotora operates Wednesday through Saturday until 1 a.m. Reservations are available via OpenTable or by calling 786-889-8093.
