The Federal Aviation Administration received an application yesterday seeking approval to install construction cranes at the Citadel tower site in Brickell.
According to the June 17 filing, the cranes are proposed to reach heights of approximately 1,301 feet above sea level, or 1,297 and 1,298 feet above ground level, pending regulatory approval. Installation is tentatively scheduled to begin around October 17, 2025.
The filing follows an interview published the same day in which Citadel founder Ken Griffin described the future tower as “one of the greatest office buildings built in the world.”
Planned to rise to a permanent height of 1,040 feet, the tower will earn supertall status and stand among the tallest buildings in Florida. The mixed-use skyscraper will serve as the global headquarters for Citadel, include office space for other companies, and feature a luxury hotel.
