March 2025 | 33-Story Tower Unveiled for the First Time

Plans for a 33-story tower have been officially unveiled in a recent filing with Miami’s Urban Development Review Board.

Named 1600 Edgewater, the project is being designed by Kobi Karp Architecture & Interior Design, according to a letter submitted to board members by an architect from the firm.

“This building aspires to be more than just a physical structure; it is a celebration of Edgewater’s vibrant character, embracing the essence of the Bay, Wynwood, and Miami,” the architect wrote.

The tower is set to rise at the site of the former Miami Cash Register location, reaching 381 feet in height. The development will include:

  • 282 residential units (262 market-rate, 20 affordable)
  • 6,615 square feet of commercial space (5,539 SF at ground level, 1,077 SF on the rooftop)
  • 328 parking spaces within an 8-story garage

The project is being developed by 1600 NE 2nd Avenue, LLC, reportedly linked to the Sabet Group.

The tower is already in the construction permitting phase, with FAA approval under review. The developer has also completed a utilities agreement.

A Urban Development Review Board (UDRB) hearing is scheduled for March 19.
