The developer behind a planned office tower at 848 Brickell Avenue has agreed to public benefits contributions as part of the conditions for development approval.
The contributions include:
- $2 million toward the 10th Street Metromover Station, to be used at the county’s discretion for repairs, maintenance, and improvements.
- Pedestrian enhancements around the development, including upgraded crosswalks and sidewalks.
- A potential new traffic signal at SE 10th Street and Brickell Plaza, as well as at the building’s new driveway—pending the results of a traffic study.
The agreement, signed by Inigo Ardid of Key International, was officially recorded last week.
Unlike most projects in the area, the development falls under Miami-Dade County’s oversight through its Rapid Transit zoning plan, rather than the City of Miami.
848 Brickell is planned as a 51-story office tower designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. The tower is expected to include:
- 750,901 square feet of office space
- 6,553 square feet of retail space
The building will rise 764 feet above ground (or 775 feet above sea level).
