Real estate developer James Curnin and his wife Jennifer have sold their waterfront mansion on La Gorce Island in Miami Beach for a record-breaking $60 million in an off-market deal. This sale sets a new price-per-square-foot record for single-family homes in Miami Beach, reaching $6,224 per square foot. The transaction was handled by Jordan Karp of Jordan Karp LLC.

The meticulously designed 9,640-square-foot residence was crafted over four years, epitomizing luxury living. Located at 66 La Gorce Circle, the home offers breathtaking views of Normandy Isle from its 0.4-acre lot. Designed by renowned architect Max Strang, the residence features interiors and furnishings curated by New York-based Pembrooke & Ives. The sale included most of the home's furnishings.

Originally acquired for $7.5 million in 2020, the property previously housed an older structure, which the Curnins demolished to construct their dream home. This transaction is one of many high-profile sales in Miami Beach’s thriving luxury real estate market.

Although the home was never officially listed, Curnin chose to sell after being approached by brokers amid Miami Beach’s booming waterfront market. La Gorce Island has seen significant investment activity, including multimillionaire Anand Khubani’s recent $100 million acquisition of adjacent properties.

Curnin’s development company, Clara Homes, remains active in South Florida, with multifamily projects underway in Wynwood and Bay Harbor Islands.
