Miami’s Urban Development Review Board has approved a large-scale development in Overtown, and the developer has announced the construction timeline. Last week, the UDRB voted 4-0 to recommend approval as presented.
Developer Terra is collaborating with an entity controlled by the Mas family on this new community. The project will be executed in three phases, with construction on the first phase of approximately 537 units expected to begin in 2025, according to the developer.
The apartments will offer a mix of market-rate, workforce, and affordable housing. The developers are engaging with neighborhood stakeholders and the Overtown Community Redevelopment Agency to provide attainable housing options, enhance walkability, incorporate green infrastructure, and improve connectivity to nearby transit.
Upon completion of all three phases, the development will feature:
- 1,219 residential units
- 16,337 square feet of commercial space
- 1,798 parking spaces
Arquitectonica is the project's architect.
