Major Transit-Oriented Development Planned at Palmetto Metrorail Station
Another significant transit-oriented development is in the works at a Miami-Dade Metrorail station.
A site plan application was submitted to Miami-Dade County on October 21, detailing plans for a large-scale mixed-use residential project at Palmetto Station. The project will rise on county-owned land leased from Miami-Dade and will feature a blend of residential, parking, and infrastructure upgrades.
The proposed development includes:
- 1,141 residential units totaling approximately 805,056 leasable square feet, with an average unit size of 706 square feet
- A multi-level parking garage offering 1,088 spaces for residents, plus an additional 550 spaces designated for Metrorail users
- Infrastructure and station improvements to enhance commuter accessibility and connectivity
Modis Architects is listed as the project’s architect, and the development is being led by Res-Des Palmetto LLC.
