Aviv: Chef Michael Solomonov Brings Israeli Flavors to 1 Hotel South Beach
This fall, 1 Hotel South Beach will unveil Aviv, a new culinary venture by renowned chef Michael Solomonov and restaurateur Steve Cook of the acclaimed CookNSolo group. Known for their five-time James Beard Award-winning restaurant Zahav in Philadelphia, the duo are bringing their celebrated Israeli cuisine to Miami.
Aviv promises an authentic taste of Israel with Yemenite bread, hand-rolled hummus, a variety of mezze plates, and kebabs grilled over charcoal in an open kitchen. The 186-seat restaurant will offer a mix of indoor and outdoor seating, alongside a bar and lounge, serving easy-drinking cocktails and a curated selection of wines from Israel, Lebanon, and the Eastern Mediterranean.
The restaurant reflects a blend of Zahav and Laser Wolf, featuring a new charcoal grill and a Saluf bread program. Aviv aims to capture the spirit of both Tel Aviv and Miami, resonating with the cultural vibrancy of both cities. Solomonov and Cook's previous Miami ventures, Dizengoff and Federal Donuts, closed due to construction disruptions, but Aviv marks their return to the city with a refreshed and exciting concept.
