Miami Beach Breaks Ground on $29.4M Lincoln Road Expansion Project
Miami Beach has officially broken ground on a $29.4 million construction project that will rebuild part of Lincoln Road and expand its pedestrian-only area.
As part of the plan, Drexel Avenue between Lincoln Lane South and Lincoln Lane North will be fully pedestrianized, creating new public space in the heart of the district. At the intersection of Drexel Avenue and Lincoln Road, a new outdoor performance venue will also be added.
The improvements include new paving, upgraded lighting, expanded café seating areas, and additional trees and landscaping to enhance the pedestrian experience.
This project is part of Phase 2 of Lincoln Road’s ongoing revitalization, which will also bring upgrades to Meridian Avenue. A separate groundbreaking ceremony will be held there.
Design work is being led by Field Operations, with completion expected in about a year.
