The demolition of an office building at the site of the One Brickell City Centre, a near-supertall development, is still in progress.
A complete demolition permit was initially approved in July, but it received a red tag from the city following an incident in September. However, the permit is now listed as active.
As of this morning, a second demolition permit for another office building is still in the process and has not yet been approved.
A construction permit for the new tower was initially applied for in June 2023, and it is currently under review.
The new 59-story tower is planned to offer 1,136,718 square feet of habitable office space.
In addition to the new tower, there are plans for a new parking garage and a Metromover entrance.
The top-off height for One Brickell City Centre is planned to be 977 feet, which positions it just below the supertall height threshold.
