Miami-Dade's Water and Sewer Department has entered into an agreement with a developer for the proposed 54-story tower named Downtown 6th.
As per the agreement dated December 15, the new tower, Downtown 6th, is set to include 824 apartments and 2,247 square feet of retail space.
According to previously filed plans with Miami planners, the development is designed to have 639 parking spaces, situated in a garage concealed behind the residential units.
In July 2023, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) granted height approval for the tower, specifying a height of 574 feet above ground or 587 feet above sea level.
In May, a construction permit application was submitted, and as of this morning, it is still in the process of being reviewed.
In February, the project underwent a hearing before Miami's Urban Development Review Board, which voted unanimously to recommend approval for the project.
