The Return of a Classic: Blue Collar Reopens in a New Miami Location

Miami’s dining scene continues to evolve, and the latest buzz centers around the grand reopening of Blue Collar, a cherished eatery that has been serving up hearty comfort food for over a decade. Chef and owner Danny Serfer has unveiled Blue Collar 2.0, a spacious new location that promises to retain the soul of the original while offering exciting enhancements.

A New Home with Vintage Charm

Located at 6789 Biscayne Boulevard in the MiMo District, just across the street from its original spot, Blue Collar's new 4,000-square-foot space is a significant upgrade from its former 800-square-foot home. The expanded venue features seating for 140 guests, both indoors and on a charming patio adorned with vintage decor. Serfer collaborated with Samantha McKenna of Chelsea Design and Joey Halpern of Joseph Halpern Woodworking to create a mid-century modern aesthetic, sourcing much of the decor from thrift shops. Notable design elements include vintage metal lunchboxes repurposed as herb gardens and a bar crafted from refurbished cabinetry and tables.

Culinary Delights: Familiar Favorites and New Additions

While the new Blue Collar maintains its commitment to approachable, flavorful dishes, the expanded kitchen allows for an enriched menu. Longtime patrons will be pleased to find signature items like the Billy Corben Sandwich and the renowned dry-aged cheeseburger still on offer. New appetizers include an Egg Roll Trio featuring cheeseburger, Cuban sandwich, and pepperoni pizza flavors, as well as Mushroom & Goat Cheese Croquettes with fig jam. Entree highlights feature Shawarma with lamb shoulder, Israeli couscous, and tahini, and a Miami Completa—a composed meal with protein options like Griot (crispy pork shoulder), accompanied by sides and a non-alcoholic drink.

Introducing a Full Bar and Happy Hour

For the first time, Blue Collar boasts a full bar, emphasizing classic cocktails such as martinis, old fashioneds, and cosmos. Serfer emphasizes that the bar program focuses on quality and efficiency, steering clear of overly elaborate concoctions. A new happy hour has been introduced, offering guests an opportunity to enjoy these classic drinks in the stylish new setting.

Consistency in Quality and Pricing

Despite the upscale ambiance and expanded offerings, Serfer assures patrons that Blue Collar's essence remains unchanged. "The new Blue will embrace the same spirit, menu concept, and pricing as the classic Blue," he states, emphasizing the restaurant's commitment to accessibility and generous portions.

A Culinary Gem in the MiMo District

Blue Collar 2.0's opening is a testament to Miami's dynamic culinary landscape, blending nostalgia with innovation. For real estate enthusiasts and foodies alike, the restaurant's evolution mirrors the growth and vibrancy of the MiMo District, making it a noteworthy destination for both dining and living.
